Who: Love the Everglades Movement (LTEM), is a multi-faceted environmental organization that works to bolster public support for the Everglades with community outreach events. LTEM utilizes a full spectrum format that combines education with the arts, spirituality and the inclusion of diverse communities. LTEM works to empower people and provide outlets to protect the Everglades and our natural resources.
What: The 3rd Annual Love the Everglades Movement Summer Symposium:
Giving Back To The Everglades is a multi-day forum for education, networking, participation and community development. The Summer Symposium will feature (Day 1) a series of guest speakers including Florida State Senator Dwight Bullard, Florida House Representative Mark Pafford, Miami County Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava and Tom Lodge, (Day 2) an interactive workshop to improve community development and (Day 3) a hands-on Everglades Clean-Up. Event is free and open to the public; all ages welcome.
When: Saturday, August 6 and Sunday, August 7 and 14, 2016.
Sat, Aug 6 – Day 1: Speaker presentations about the Everglades including Florida State Senator Dwight Bullard, Florida House Representative Mark Pafford, Miami County Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava, Tom Lodge and others. In addition there will be multi-media presentations, a meditation chapel and artistic displays – plus vendors and information tables. Sponsorship packages available.
Sun, Aug 7 – Day 2: Workshop focuses on community development and expanding resources through a series of topics and interactive discussions.
Sun, Aug 14 – Day 3:Everglades Clean-up – details T.B.A.
